| 1. When I was little I would imagine that I was tied to an invisible chord so that however many times I turned around I would have turn back around an equal number of times. 2. I have a small scar on my forehead from when I fell on a hot stove while playing on the counter when I was 4. 3. I'm left handed. 4. I spent most of third grade completing handwriting exercise books because my writing was so atrocious. It never got any better. 5. I used to play directly behind the rear bumper of our 1969 Buick Electra 225 because it looked like my fingers were independent worms lying on the pavement. 6. I was born on Christmas Day, 1968 (The Year of the Monkey, of course), just as astronauts were orbiting the moon for the first time. I was about a month early and caught everyone by surprise. 7. My first computer was a Texas Instruments TI-994A. I had thought that it would come equipped with a personality like all of the computers I had seen on TV and was rather disappointed to find that it was just another mindless toy. 8. When I was in 3rd grade my friend Sean Gomez' house burned down. I walked through the house later that day and it freaked me out so badly I couldn't think about it for months. I even hid the note from school to donate to the Gomezes in a bottle, only to be discovered by my mother a year or so later when we were packing it to move. I couldn't answer when she asked me why I'd done it. 9. I lived in eight different houses when I was growing up, in three states. 10. I've never broken a bone or had a cavity. 11. I've never had any of the normal childhood diseases everyone is supposed to get. 12. I've studied Karate, Kungfu and Tai-chi. 13. I've had two knee operations. 14. I've had 8 teeth pulled, four of them wisdom teeth. 15. I wore braces for four years in high school. My orthodontist, Dr. Nelson, was very reluctant to take them off. He wanted them to stay on "indefinitely". 16. I've studied violin, piano and trumpet. 17. My first car was a tan 1977 Datsun 810. It had a sunroof, a purple interior, and could haul ass. No A/C, though, which kind of sucked as this was in Florida. 18. I met then-ROC President Lee Teng-hui in a mall. He was buying a sport jacket. I was just hanging out. I've also met current President Chen Shui-bian and future President Ma Ying-jeou. 19. I played a small role in Edward Yang's feature film "Mahjong". I think "Mahjong" is a horrible film. 20. Most of my best friends have had terrible and/or absent fathers. |

21. Everyone says I look like my father, even though he's about six shades darker than me. 22. I've forgotten most of the Russian I ever knew. 23. I like cats and dogs, but prefer cats. There are few things out there as comforting as a cat asleep on your lap. 24. I was raised in the US, but I've never lived in the US as an adult. 25. I was adopted by a Taiwanese family. 26. I have alienated two different families. 27. I am not a people person. People are always telling me "Smile! Be happy!" I tend to alienate people, mostly without meaning to. 28. I like swords and knives. I have both at home and usually carry a knife of some sort. This might have something to do with my not being a people person. 29. I don't drink any beer except for the occasional Boddington's, and that's only because I like the creaminess of it. The taste is still awful. I don't drink coffee, either. 30. I fenced in college and was asked to join the school team. 31. I'm a 'mo. 32. I sayt that because I just don't like the terms "gay", or "queer" or "homosexual". 33. I have green-grey eyes. 34. I once broke my sword in a sword fight. 35. I think models and A-list actors are the least sexy men around. 36. I once walked halfway across Los Angeles in the hope of finding a cab. 37. I quit the Boy Scouts and threw away all of the troop's records when I was about 14, after being demoted for missing a meeting. 38. I performed with the Florida Symphony Orchestra at a concert in 1986. 39. I was a small jazz group that played at a place called "The Sandwich Shop" with my friend Boogie. 40. My favorite toys when I was little were Matchbox Cars. I even stole a few from friends. 41. I loathe Sailor Moon with an incredible passion 42. I've eaten fried scorpions. I've also eaten dog. Not at the same meal, though. 43. Once when I was on a hiking path on Cheung Chau Island, I stripped naked and mooned Hong Kong. 44. I had tubes surgically inserted into my ears when I was 8. 45. I have never been in love. 46. I seem to be able to hear extraordinarily high frequencies. 47. I once worked on the LANTIRN project at Martin-marietta aerospace. I spent most of my time there making copies for people and distributing them. 48. I've been fired from four jobs. 49. I've quit five other jobs. |

50. I used to sell pears from our backyard pear tree on the street when I was 7 or 8. 51. My parents disapproved of and didn't want me watching such TV shows as the Dukes of Hazzard, M*A*S*H and Hogan's Heroes because they taught disrespect for authority. I grew up that way anyway. 52. I wrote a short novel about Russian spies when I was 14. It was in pencil and faded eventually. I wrote to the orchestral version of "Hazy Shade of Winter". 53. Nobody ever read it except possibly my brother, who was always sneaking into my room and reading things. I got back at him by destroying his model planes. 54. I appreciate bamboo in plant form or for construction use, but I hate it as a food. 55. When I was a child I ate hamburgers with only mustard on them. 56. I purportedly eat like my great-grandfather Will, one dish at a time. 57. I was born with the surname Locke. 58. One of my relatives was named Micajah. 59. One of my ancestors was supposedly a Russian duke who could speak seven languages. 60. Another was former Choctaw Tribal Chief Victor M. Locke, Jr. 61. My grandfather worked on the construction of the house my parents live in now. 62. I was a stateless person in Hong Kong for about six months. During an appreciable part of that time I lived in Kwai-chung, one of the wort parts of that area. 63. I once helped kill hundreds of Foot-and-mouth Disease-stricken pigs in one day. 64. I once played trumpet in a band on an economy cruise ship, the Emerald Seas, in the Bahamas. I also played at Walt Disney World in Florida. 65. I joined a student protest against the government for several days in Taipei in early 1990, headband and all. 66. My first crush was on Scott Sobel, in 7th grade. 67. I was really arrogant about my trumpet playing ability in high school. I wasn't nearly good enough to warrant being arrogant about it. It was a rare day I could hit a high C. 68. I have an FCC radio license. 69. One of my very favorite things to do is read while I eat. I used to eat peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches in my fort in the backyard as I read Gone-away Lake or Return to Gone-away, by Elizabeth Enright. 70. I quit confirmation class because I was tired of the answer to every single of of my questions being "That's the way God wanted it." 71. One of my ears is differently shaped than the other. 72. When I was five I dug up all of the carrots in our garden looking for the 'perfect carrot', i.e., the perfectly shaped kind that Bugs Bunny was always munching on TV. 73. I once mistakenly took a swig of vinegar in the belief that it was apple cider. 74. I hated clowns as a child. I resisted any and all attempts to paint my face for any reason. 75. Two of my past language instructors were former NSA people. One of them is still alive. 76. Almost everyone who is interested in having a relationship with me is not my type. Everyone I am interested in having a relationship with, however, says I'm not their type. 77. I had a red pedal-powered toy car when I was 4. I called it "Chubby". Shut up. 78. I spent years 1 to 4 living in various houses in and around Littleton, Colorado, not far from the rich suburb of Columbine. 79. I love setting off on a new trip or adventure. 80. I can't stay in the same situation for very long without going crazy. 81. I'm a good shot with an M16 automatic rifle 82. I'm terrible at throwing grenades. 83. I collided with a taxi on my motorcycle and ended up paying the cabbie NT$600 for the damage my body did to his car rather than have him take it out of my hide with his tire iron. 94. I once refused to dress up as a woman for a play in high school. 95. I grind my teeth at night. 96. I wore my hair in a Mohawk for several years. Now I keep it very short. 97. I love frosted cake donuts. I also like tuna sashimi, but not with the donuts. 98. I am 5' 10". 99. I want to fly a WWII-era fighter airplane. 100.
